An Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on Digital Marketing was successfully organized on 26th February 2026 at Golaghat Purbanchalik College. The programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

The awareness campaign was jointly organized by the IQAC of Golaghat Purbanchalik College in collaboration with SNEHASPAD FOUNDATION, a non-governmental organization working towards entrepreneurship and skill development.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of digital marketing in today’s business environment and to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives among young learners.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Haren Hazarika, Principal of the college, and Dr. Malamoni Goswami, Vice Principal, who actively participated and encouraged the students to explore self-employment opportunities through digital platforms.

The resource persons for the programme, Mr. Riaz Raul Haque and Mr. Darshan Das, delivered insightful lectures on various aspects of digital marketing, including social media marketing, online branding, content strategy, and emerging digital business trends. They explained how digital marketing has become an essential tool for entrepreneurs and startups to expand their reach and sustain their businesses in a competitive market.

The entire programme was coordinated and smoothly conducted under the leadership of Mr. Pranjal Saikia, IQAC Coordinator, who played a key role in organizing and hosting the event.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The interactive session allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain practical insights into the field of digital marketing.

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, marking it as a significant step towards promoting entrepreneurial mindset and digital skills among the students of Golaghat Purbanchalik College.

Report on Live Telecast of “Mukhya Mantri Babu Moina Scheme”

On 26th February 2026, the students and faculty members of Golaghat Purbanchalik College witnessed the live streaming of the inauguration of the “Mukhya Mantri Babu Mdina Scheme” by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The programme was inaugurated in Guwahati in a formal ceremony organized by the Government of Assam.

The live telecast was arranged in the college premises to enable students, especially male students, to understand the objectives and benefits of the newly launched scheme. The scheme primarily emphasizes the welfare, educational support, and overall development of boys students across the state. It aims to encourage academic continuity, reduce dropout rates, and provide necessary assistance for higher education.

Students gathered in large numbers to witness the programme. The event began with the live address of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, who elaborated on the importance of empowering young students and ensuring equal opportunities for growth and success. He highlighted the Government’s commitment towards strengthening the education sector in Assam.

The Principal of Golaghat Purbanchalik College addressed the students after the telecast and encouraged them to take full advantage of the scheme. Faculty members also briefed the students regarding eligibility criteria and future application procedures.

The live streaming programme concluded successfully with active participation from students and staff members. The initiative was appreciated by the college community as a positive step towards supporting and motivating boys students in their academic journey.

Report on Mental Health Awareness Programme:

A Mental Health Awareness Programme was organized on February 23, 2026, under the NALSA (Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) Scheme, 2024, and the Roshni project of SKET, Assam.
The program was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Golaghat, in collaboration with the Let’s Spread Knowledge Educational Team, Assam, Golaghat Purbanchalik college IQAC, GRIEVANCES Cell, teacher unit and student community, who were actively associated with the event.
Notable speakers included:
Rahul Rousan Bora, Deputy Chief, Legal Aid Defence Counsel, DLSA, Golaghat
Mitali Roy, Director, SKET, Assam
Gourab Das, Paralegal Volunteer, DLSA, Golaghat
These individuals delivered valuable speeches on legal issues and mental health. They provided several tips on mental health, physical health, POCSO law, child marriage, etc., which were explained lucidly.
The college principal, Dr. Haren Hazarika, actively cooperated with and supported the arrangements. The entire session was successfully completed and proved fruitful. More than 65 students attended the program from different semesters.

An academic discussion session was organized at Golaghat Purbanchalik Mahavidyalaya on 21st February 2026 (Saturday) on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. The programme was conducted in the college premises under the initiative of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Department of Assamese and the Academic Cell.

The theme of the discussion session was “Crisis and Prospects of Mother Tongues in the Age of Globalization.” The objective of the programme was explained by Shri Pranjal Saikia, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. The session was chaired and moderated by Dr. Malamani Goswami, Vice Principal of the college.
Several students actively participated in the session by presenting thought-provoking papers on the theme. The speakers highlighted the challenges faced by mother tongues in the era of globalization, including the dominance of global languages, cultural homogenization, and the gradual decline in the use of regional languages. At the same time, they also emphasized the possibilities of preservation and promotion of mother languages through education, digital platforms, policy support, and community initiatives.
Among the faculty members who delivered their valuable speeches were Assistant Professors Rinku Moni Gogoi, Bijit Saikia, Nilakshi Baruah, and Chandana Panging. Assistant Librarian Jagat Bora and Library Assistant Danda Gohain also shared their insightful views on the significance of preserving and promoting the mother tongue.

The programme concluded on a meaningful note with a renewed commitment to uphold linguistic diversity and promote the use of the mother tongue in academic and social spheres. The discussion session proved to be informative, engaging, and intellectually enriching for all present.

Today, on Monday, 01/12/2025, “WORLD AIDS DAY” was observed at college premises, where the “Red Ribbon Club” has taken initiative in collaboration with the “Academic Committee” and the “KKSHOU Study Centre”. The objective of the programme was explained by Dr. Malamoni Goswami, Coordinator of the Academic Committee. The meeting was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Haren Hazarika. After this, Vice-Principal Dr. Malamoni Goswami, Assistant Professor of the Department of Political Science Tridib Lochan Barooah, and Principal Dr. Haren Hazarika delivered awareness speeches on AIDS and HIV to the students. Finally, the meeting was declared concluded with the remarks of the President.

SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETION OF Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme 2.0 at Golaghat Purbanchalik College :
In alignment with the directive of the State Government of Assam, Golaghat Purbanchalik College (GPC) proudly hosted the inauguration programme of the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme 2.0 on 27th October 2025. The event marked a significant step towards empowering girl students through financial and educational support.

The programme commenced with a live streaming of the official state-level launch, which was attentively followed by the guests, faculty members, and the girl students of the college. The initiative, aimed at encouraging higher education among girls, was met with enthusiasm and appreciation by all present.

The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Rajmohan Nath, Chairman of DDA, Dergaon, and Mrs Rashika Shyam, circle officer, Khumtai revenue circle, who attended as honoured guests. Their presence added value to the event and reflected the seriousness with which the scheme is being implemented at the grassroots level.

Mr Rajmohan Nath, DDA,Dergaon , delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the objectives and benefits of the Nijut Moina Scheme 2.0. In his speech, he emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the education of girls and ensuring their active participation in building a progressive society.

Following the speech, application forms for the scheme were distributed among the girl students of the 1st and 3rd semesters, allowing them to directly avail the benefits under this initiative.
In the same way Rashika Shyam , circle officer ,Khumtai, also illustrates the benifits of the scheme, in front of the students.
The entire program is hosted by Dr. Haren Hazarika principal,GPC. Teaching and non teaching staff actively associated with it.

The programme concluded on a positive and hopeful note, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to contributing meaningfully to the educational upliftment of young women in the region.
