Celebration of the 80th Independence Day at Golaghat Purbanchalik College
August 22, 2026Orientation Programme for First Semester :
On Thursday, 6 August 2026, an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted First Semester students was organized by the Academic Committee and the Admission Committee of Golaghat Purbanchalik College. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolizing the auspicious beginning of the event. The session was presided over by Dr. Haren Hazarika, Principal of the College.
The objectives of the programme were explained by Dr. Malamoni Goswami, Academic Coordinator. The programme was efficiently conducted by Mrs. Chandana Panging, Admission Coordinator, Samarth Portal.
The formal inauguration of the programme was marked by a group song performed by students Priyanki Gogoi, Priyanka Kalita, Purbali Bordoloi, and Nitali Bora.
Addressing the newly admitted First Semester students, Dr. Malamani Goswami, Vice Principal; Mr. Pranjal Saikia, IQAC Coordinator; and Mr. Kamal Das, Assistant Professor, delivered detailed presentations on the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The cultural segment of the programme featured dance and musical performances by several students, adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the event.
In his presidential address, Dr. Haren Hazarika, Principal of the College, highlighted the significance of the FYUGP curriculum and acquainted the students with various aspects of higher education. The programme concluded with the President formally declaring the session closed.
