Brief History of the Department:
The Department of Political Science, Golaghat Purbanchalik College has been started from 1987 during the establishment period. Presently the department has two full time teachers. The teaching learning process are given importance smooth conduct always for its fruitfulness. After establishment offered regular classes in Political Science inspection by the higher authority for concern, affiliation and got major permission in 2022.
Vision: The Department of Political Science basically premises to aware students about the respect of Nation with maintain the norms of rights and duties follows the devotions of past leaders through teaching, learning, experiment, research, extension activities relating to National and International dimensions. The students make themselves a good citizen with basically gathering and acquired from knowledge.
Mission: The Department of Political Science to promote liberal learning inculcating to maintaining value and norms belonging to society. The students are study their respective curriculum present to make themselves as a ideal person as well as Citizen keep brotherhood all kind of caste, religion between the state to maintain a good citizenship National as well as International scenario.

The department of Political Science class are doing the allotted classroom. The intake capacity of 30 students and present increase upto 40 students. The class are conducting offline mode and need basis and information are taking the ways of WhatsApp group and other communicative system. In regular basis are doing sessional Examination and other Assignments and Seminars.
The department published a hand written magazine name is “Aluk” which are focussing thoughts, feelings and creative writing of the students.
